Voted best regional 10K ( the national awards are on 25th April ….paws crossed !) Again this year there were loads of lovely comments, many on Facebook and Twitter but as usual loads of lovely emails. When you have organised the Mad Dog the post race feedback is so nice, especially when you are in the “Never again mood” Thanks so much to all who posted, tweeted and emailed, Below is a really small selection from Mad Dogs old and new ……… This really is just a VERY SMALL SELECTION of what the Mad Dog team received ……

Good evening Adrian, I was one of the lucky people who was given a special place today via xxxx xxxxxxx and I wanted to say I’m hugely grateful and privileged to have taken part. It’s the best 10k race I’ve ever ran without question. The organisation and communication before the race was second to none, the entertainment was fantastic, the goody bags go without saying but the community spirit was incredible. The Facebook page was very entertaining and useful but the camaraderie on there helped so much. I asked about pacers and one runner kindly offered to pace me, pushing me through the race and getting me in nearly 50 seconds under the 50 minutes I’d been struggling to achieve. The race is a true credit to you and thank you once again for my place. I’ll be keeping a close eye on the ballot for next year! I hope you have a well deserved rest now. You very kindly allowed me to run after I deferred due to injury in 2018. Still not 100% fit I chose to pace another runner to a sub 50 minute PB; a choice I’ve made at other races in the past. This only added to my enjoyment. I will be trying to enter again next year, fitness permitting, & fully intend to take my chance in the race for a place & pay accordingly but if I can help in this role in the future just let me know. The organisation is second to none, after last year you had the best toilet queues I've EVER experinced..... taking critism from last year & going with it & not only improving things but knocking it out of the park for no personal financial gain but for the pride of seeing such an awsome event unfold takes unparalleled dedication. Cheers TL Email Adrian and Wendy and all the team What a remarkable event fantastic in every way everybody at walk2run Blackley enjoyed it some great pb's were made yesterday we appreciate as a running group all the hard work that goes into such an amazing event that isn't run by a profit making organisation best 10k we could wish for and we will all vote for you in the awards Everybody at the club said for an extra donation we all would like chocolate bar in the goody bag would you consider as an idea for next time Kind regards JD Email I signed up to this race for the first time as it seemed like something different from your average 10k and had received a lot of praise in the running community. I first turned up and initially upon seeing the queue for the baggage and goody bag felt it could be a long day. The queue soon went down and once I was inside I was impressed by the sheer efficiency and speed with which the volunteers were sorting everything out. Absolutely textbook! I was back out in no time and into the extremely efficiently organised toilet queues. I have been at events with half the participants and waited 30 mins in the queue.... none of that here.! No messing and was away in plenty of time to enter my designated pen and in the race start ,again this was perfect, no bottlenecking issues and extemely hassle free. Having my favourite footballer of all time start the event was great too! The whole experience from start to finish was special from the bands to marshals and excellent range of fancy dress, and I would say the event is one of the few examples of an occasion actually living up to the hype. Thanks for the efforts in organising such a large scale event so efficiently. In my younger days I used to run a lot of 10ks but I’ve never seen one where so many people put in so much effort to make it such a brilliant experience for the runners . We spoke to people from all over the country who were taking part some for the first time & others who had done it several times before & everyone was full of praise for the organisation of the event . Of course there can be hiccups on the day but everything that can be anticipated is taken care of. Lots of praise for the goodie bags too - everyone saying how good the contents are & loving the T-shirt’s & socks . Thank you for allowing us to be part of the legend that is Mad Dog . I was so worried that I’d somehow been given the wrong bag and was thinking of how I’d return it when I’d properly checked it at my car - I’d had to rush off to collect my kids to see a rugby match! Upon checking it properly at my car, realising there wasn’t anything personal to someone else I thought OMG this is all included! Brilliant bag of goodies, brilliant race experience and fantastic effort by all concerned THANKYOU! The organisation is second to none .The atmosphere just simply the best. The Marshall s and there friendliness can't be beaten. Fun and games on the trains over 6 hours to get there could not take the shine of it. I will be ready and waiting for Mad dog number ten sorry Adrian and team I bet that is very close to swearing at the moment I will be nearly 69 then .Thank you so much for keeping this OAP . Anyone complaining or moaning (there’s always a few) need to attend other races and realise how this event knocks the other 10ks in the north west out of the water. The bands were a particular highlight for me. We all appreciate your efforts! You all deserve a medal yourselves for what you’ve done to get this event together.

The weather was perfect and I managed a personal best time on Sunday so I am particularly pleased. As usual everyone was really helpful and yet again it is by far the best organised and happiest run we do in the year.
