Mad Dog #1
2011.......We had some amazing feedback, rated 97% on Runners World We recveived over 140 emails of thanks in 2011, that means that 1 in 5 runners have took the time to email and not one bad email amongst them,Runners are such nice people !! Below are a few emails and just a small selection of some of the comments .....Thank you to all who took the time to email me, Adrian Just a Selection of email comments.....Just to say from one "tired old dog" a tremendous "well done"!!I really had a great time and thought you all did a great job........here's to next year. Thanks again to all involved...sponsors/volunteers alike!!MartynAdrianThat was one of the best organised races I have taken part in..............well done you and huge Thanks to your colleagues, I just wanted to say thanks!RegardsLindaHi ...I would like to let you know todays race was the best organised race I have been involved in. From entry to start then finish it was well organised and just got better. After races showers, food and massages were great. I have entered approximately 20 races around the country and I've not experienced a race as well marshalled and run. Please pass on my sincere thanks to all who helped, (from the marshalls, little kids getting the tee-shirts and the drinks station) make it such a good day. You can't beat a good tee-shirt and medal. I am already looking forward to next year. Many thanks TonyHi, Just wanted to say a big thank you for a great race - really well organised and great marshals. Will definitely be there next year!Clare. Thanks for the race, it was very well organised! In particular the marshals were very encouraging!Kind regardsAndy & Crew Dear Adrian and all who were involved in the organisingMy husband Mike and I completed the race today and can I say how fantastic it was. You should all be really proud of yourselves for arranging such a great race. My husband runs many races and I only a few and we were both really impressed today (apart from the head wind!!!). We would just like to say a big thank you and safe to say we will be back next year! It is an absolute credit to you all. With ThanksMike and Jen I can not believe this was the first time this race has been run as it was simply fantastic. I have been to a number of races, big and small and this was one of the best organised events I have ever entered. The marshalls were so encouraging and thankful to the runners as we passed, the course was great (except the wind but that's not your fault!) and the start/finish venue was superb-clean, tidy and warm!!! I really hope you have raised a lot of money from this superb event and totally think it should become a rated event. First class, well done you!! LizAdrian Many thanks to yourself and all the marshalls, other helpers and sponsors for making this the BEST ORGANISED race in which I have taken part. Considering I've been in over 100 races, that's no mean feat. The only comment I'd make would be to say that in retrospect this race was probably too cheap!!! For an affiliated fee of 12.50, runners got tee shirts AND medals, spot prizes, chip timing, good winners prizes and trophies, free massage and bag storage, excellent venue, plentiful toilets...... The list goes on. Many races charge significantly more, despite providing much, much less. Especially when it is clear that proceeds go to a worthwhile charity, I'm sure the running community would happily have paid more. All in all, a near perfect race (just get the wind cancelled for next year please and it will be faultless!)Many thanks,Dave Hi thereI just wanted to say how much I enjoyed today (not the wind mind you !!) the atmosphere was great and the marshals out on the course were super, I don't think I ran (or walked) past a single one who didn't speak to me and I do lots of 5ks and 10ks and it does make a difference. The gang at the water station were lots of fun too, however I did ask for a brandy but only got water !! Anyway I did my worst ever 10K time, is there such a thing as a personal worst, but I had a great time and the medal is fab one of the best I've ever got.I will certainly leave my comments on runners world and hope it will be the start of many mad dog runs.PS - your enthusiastic emails have been brill.Dear Adrian. Please allow me to add my thanks to you and the whole team for a great event. For a first time occasion you have certainly set a tough standard to match next year!I have just browsed through the website and my appreciation for all your efforts grows even more, the attention to detail is just staggering, I never expected to see photos of myself running and I am still laughing at the results. Well done once again. That you managed to raise so much for charity is a major acheivement in itself but to do so whilst engaging in the challenges the organisation must have brought is trully inspiring.I hope that I am able to join you all again next time.Best wishes for the futureMark.
